Bedroom Lighting
The bedroom may be a place for relaxing, but it is also an area where you may read, watch TV, and get ready for your day, therefore bedrooms are best lit with a combination of different kinds of light sources. Firstly you may want some ambient light to find your way around the room, or with a dimmer switch for a soft light level for when your in bed, it may be a close-up ceiling fixture, a wall sconces
or a light package on a ceiling fan. Secondly you may want some task lighting, boudoir lamps on the bed side tables for reading in bed, or swing-arm wall lamps mounted on either side of the bed . Thirdly you may also want to consider some accent lighting, like track lighting shining on the plant in the corner or the picture on the wall.
A child’s bedroom is also a place for relaxing, but it is also a play center. Young children may need a reassuring night light. Ensure that they can reach all light switches, and that all lights are placed well out of reach to avoid possible burns.Recessed lights might be good idea for a child's bedroom as they can't be knocked over and provide a good light on the floor for playing. Children also like to read in bed so some bedside lamps are needed. If your children has a desk, then a good desk lamp is essential.
